As the Reading Eagle once said to describe The Henry P. Robeson House, “Everything old is new again.” The Henry P. Robeson House is located at 124 E. Penn Avenue in Robesonia, PA. It was named after the town’s founder, Henry P. Robeson, who lived from 1800-1860. The building is believed to be the oldest standing building in the borough, dating back to the 1820s.
Getting the doors open at The Henry P. Robeson House was a process that took approximately three years. From the idea and dream, to the purchase and renovations, to perfecting the menu and staff, much hard work and dedication went into making it what it is today.
The Henry P. Robeson House began with a vision by Duane Putt, who initially started the venture only to give up on the idea a year later. After a spirited conversation with Jimmy Borst the vision came back to life. Their goal was to create a hometown bar, while keeping the historical charm, and having a decadent menu that could not be compared.
Daily menu items include our famous pit beef open faced sandwich, our famous pit beef on kaiser with au jus, our baby back rib plate, and our slow smoked pulled ham on kaiser. House made Chetty ale sauce can be added to any sandwich.
The specialty meats are prepared on one of two, YS 1500 Pellet BBQ Pits. We also have items to share, burgers, wings, salads, sandwiches, and wraps. For dessert, you will want to try out our house-made chocolate peanut butter cake.
